Total Hours per Week: 37.5
Schedule: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts
Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants): $28.68 per hour
About the Role
As an RECE Full Day Educator at Umbrella Family Centres, you will play an important role in supporting children and families each day by creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. Working alongside a collaborative team, you will plan, implement, and document engaging, play-based learning experiences that reflect children’s interests and developmental needs. You will support daily routines and well-being, actively supervise indoor and outdoor activities, and build positive relationships through open communication with families and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
- Good standing with the College of ECE
Skills & Knowledge:
- Demonstrated ability to guide, support, and build positive relationships with children requiring behavioural guidance, using responsive and inclusive strategies.
- Strong knowledge and application of How Does Learning Happen? to foster environments that support belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression.
- Proven experience in planning, implementing, and documenting developmentally appropriate full-day programs for infant, toddler and preschool-aged children
- Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and engage families in their child’s learning.
- Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and document developmentally appropriate activities that promote children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development in alignment with How Does Learning Happen?
- Ensure the health, safety, supervision, and overall well-being of children at all times, following CCEYA requirements and Umbrella policies and procedures.
- Create and maintain an engaging, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment that supports exploration, belonging, and positive relationships with children and their families.
- Collaborate with team members to support consistent daily routines, positive behaviour guidance, and smooth program operations.
