Who We’re Looking For
Experience:  Minimum 5-years of experience working within a childcare centre.
Education:
  • Diploma (or equivalent) in Early Childhood Education and Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing; and
  • University degree in a related field preferred but not required.
Certifications:
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Proof of up to date immunization for TB, Tetanus and MMR
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations
Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of How Does Learning Happen?
  • Conflict resolution and problem solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the CECE Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring and facilitating adult education
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite; and
  • Knowledge of inclusion principles as they relate to early childhood education

  • Strong written and verbal communication and strong oral presentation skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve outcomes and meet deadlines

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide and mentor supervisors and educators to align their programs and practices with provincial pedagogy;
  • Plan and deliver continuous professional learning and development in programming, pedagogy and pedagogical documentation;
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with early year’s community partners;
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with any applicable community organizations;
  • Guide supervisors and educators in working with children with diverse abilities; and
  • Provide strategies and resources to support each child’s unique skill-set.
