Position: Temporary RECE Full Day Educator (End date February 23, 2026)
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Temporary RECE Full Day Educator to join our team!
Location: Sir Wilfrid Laurier Centre- 70 Albright Road, Hamilton, ON L8K 5J3
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shifts
Pay Rate per Collective Agreement (includes wage grants): $ 27.72 per hour

- At least 1 year of experience working directly with children OR experience in a childcare setting with school-aged children is preferred
- Proven ability to plan and implement programs for toddlers and preschoolers
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education
- Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Standard First Aid with CPR level C certification
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Proof of up-to-date immunizations for TB, Tetanus, and MMR
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations
Skills & Competencies:
- Familiarity with the Ministry of Education's How Does Learning Happen? framework is an asset
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and diverse environment
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced setting
- Designing and implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests to promote their overall development
- Maintaining supervision and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children up to 12 years of age
- Organizing indoor and outdoor play spaces, materials, and equipment to create a welcoming environment
- Conducting daily health checks on children and documenting any concerns as required by the Ministry of Education
- Collaborating with colleagues and maintaining professional relationships with Hamilton Wentworth District School Board staff
